What's a PriceWatch?
A PriceWatch is a price alert on a listing that's for sale. Set the price you're hoping to pay, and you'll be notified the moment the seller drops to it, so you don't have to keep checking back.
How it works
- Open a sell (WTS) listing and enter the price you'd want to pay.
- If the seller ever drops their price to that or lower, you get notified by push and/or email, based on your notification settings.
- Update or remove your target price on the listing anytime.
- Everything you're watching lives on My PriceWatches.
PriceWatch only applies to sell listings. Want-to-buy, trade, and bins don't have a single price to drop, so there's nothing to watch.
What the seller sees
Setting a PriceWatch tells the seller you're interested at a price, even before they hit it. They get notified when you set it, and on their own listing page they can see everyone watching and each target price. Dropping your price to meet one is an easy way to turn a watcher into a sale, or you can just message them directly.
PriceWatch vs. Save
These are two different buttons on a listing. Save just bookmarks the listing for you; the seller never sees who saved it. PriceWatch adds a price to that: it's meant to be seen, since it's the closest thing to making an offer without messaging.
Example
A rifle is listed at $350, but you'd jump on it at $280. Set a PriceWatch at $280 and forget about it. If the seller ever marks it down to $280 or below, you get an alert right away, ahead of anyone else who's just been refreshing the listing.
