How to sell a used airsoft gun locally
The easiest way to sell a used airsoft gun locally is to list it where players at your field will see it, then meet them at the field to hand it over. The buyer can test it before paying, and nobody has to box it up and ship it.
Here's how to get it ready, price it, and make the sale go smoothly.
Get it ready
- Clean it and make sure it runs. Charge the battery or bring gas so a buyer can try it.
- Gather everything that goes with it: mags, battery, charger, sling, manuals, the original box.
- Write down what you've changed (gearbox work, inner barrel, hop-up, spring, motor) and anything that doesn't work right. Buyers trust a seller who mentions the flaws up front.
- If you know its FPS, note it with the BB weight you measured it with.
Price it
Look at what the same model is listed for near you. Search by state for the brand and model. Sold and ended listings stay up, so you can see what similar guns went for, not just what people are asking.
Price for its real condition. Used guns with upgrades rarely get back what the parts cost, but a clean, well-documented gun sells faster. You can drop the price later, and anyone with a PriceWatch on your listing is told when you do.
Write the listing
- Put the brand and model in the title, like "Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1" or "Krytac Trident MK2 CRB". That's what buyers search for.
- Take clear photos in good light: both sides, the mags, anything included, and any wear.
- In the description, list what's included, the upgrades, the condition, and how you'd like to be paid.
On bstairsoft, create a listing and choose sell (WTS), trade (WTT), or both. It shows up for players at the fields you picked. Clearing out a pile of smaller gear instead? A bin is one post for all of it.
Meet the buyer
- Agree on the price and how they'll pay before you meet.
- Meet at the field on a game day, where there are other people around and a place to test.
- Let them shoot it, following the field's rules. Many fields will let you use their chrono.
- Bring it cased or bagged, not out in the open.
After the sale
Mark the listing sold. It tells other buyers it's gone, and it leaves a record of the price for the next person selling the same gun.
